What does your tatoo mean to you? Is the tatoo itself symbolic of something significant in your life or is the act of tatooing more significant? Or both?

Fri, September 2, 2005 - 2:24 PMHi Well my tattoos mean ALOT to me! My 1st tattoo is a Poppy..(on my left ankle) My grandfathers nickname, so being that my grandfather & I were so close that is why I got that!
Now my second tattoo is feather (wings) In the shape of a heart...Long story....ok here goes....last August (04) I had to have open heart surgery & everywhere I went I would find feathers....All the time! So I felt like it was my grandfather telling me that I would be ok...So when I saw this picture of a heart I had to have that tattooed on me~!
